suit cases

Last night's adventure in retail was the woman who stuffed two very large suitcases full of gym clothes and was walking out the door without paying for any of it. One sales floor associate saw what she was doing and at least prevented her from getting out with one of the suitcases, although she got away with the other one.  We spent more time getting out and closing the store tonight because it took so long to unpack and re-hang the clothes that we could put back out on the sales floor. Several multi-set singles had to be set aside at the end of the night on the "mis-mates" rack for further processing.

waiting for sleep

I worked at the dress shop Saturday morning while MonsterMustDie drove alone to Alabama for his 50th high school class reunion.

He visited his family graves while he was there - his parents, his sister who died when she was a toddler, his uncle who he is named after. Somehow, this time alone, visiting the cemetery was especially painful for him. He never cries over any of them but it hit him especially hard this time around.

He made it to the class reunion. He didn't recognize most of the people there, as I predicted. One woman was still recognizable, who was the prettiest girl in their graduating class according to him. She had taken care of herself over the years. The men were mostly bald, fat, and bearded now so there was hardly any trace of who or what they used to be.

He arrived late at night at the Soogs house, where he spent the night before finishing the trip home.
